I'll be there on Saturday for my seventh consecutive visit. I was too slow on the draw in getting a 4-day pass. I'm most dreading the crowds. When I first went on Saturday in 2004, I got into at least five or six panels, including a late-day appearance by Sarah Michelle Gellar in Hall H (the hot ticket that year.)

As the convention has gotten bigger - about 40,000 more people went last year than in 2004 - con-goers have had to make more of a hard choice between waiting in line all day for one panel they REALLY want to see, or getting to walk around and check out everything on the con floor. If you're there more than one day, as I was in 2006-08, you can usually find a balance.

But last year I also only went on Saturday and the place was so overstuffed and the lines for all the panels were so long that it was a really disappointing experience. Most of the panels end up online, so I don't feel bad about my call to walk the floor most of the day. I do wish that there was more space so it was possible to have elbow room in most of the booths.

Hard to say what I'm really looking forward to since Saturday's schedule isn't up yet. But it absolutely kills me that I won't be there for the Abrams/Whedon summit. (Though the highlight of two separate visits was bumping into Joss on the con floor and getting pictures with him.)

I live in San Diego, and it's one of the events I look forward to the most. I'll be there every day including Wednesday night. Not sure what I'm looking forward to. I look forward to most of it. Comic-Con's always been an inspiration to me. So much imagination concentrated in one place, it's hard not to think about stories.
