As potentially the lone Milwaukeean on this board (besides my friend Lee over at The Last Reveal blog (which you all should read regularly, Lee has some wonderful insights on the craft!)), I must take a moment to chime in here...

This town exploded when they shot the first Major League here. To this day, it's somewhat legendary. Everyone kind of sports it as a badge of pride if you were in the stands of the dearly departed County Stadium for filming. I went one night and it was a hell of a party atmosphere.

Currently Uecker is recovering from open heart surgery but will hopefully be back at the mic calling the balls and strikes by late July. Though we are certainly not exactly blessed with a particularly good team at this point in history, we have the BEST radio announcer in Ueke and, arguably , the greatest ballpark to watch baseball in the Majors right now (new Yankee stadium notwithstanding, of course).

Vuckovich is the Fox Sports color commentator on the Brewers TV network at this time and he quite a bit of fun as well... he has this dry, laconic delivery that is priceless... and necessary when you're watching the wheels come off Brewer pitching for the umpteenth time!

I hear they are going to attempt a "Major League" reboot. True???

Comic Understatement...

And this voice said "Zuul". And then I slammed the refrigerator door and I left. That was two days ago, and I haven't been back to my apartment.

Generally you don't see that kind of behavior in a major appliance. What do you think it was?
