I've spent my life working in show business and it's been a great life. I have two kids, six, and three now and will tell them only three things. 1) Don't do it unless you really love it and there is nothing else you want to do. 2) If and when you start to make big $ - you are not making as much as you think - save at least half. 3) If they marry -- marry someone who is in not in show business.

Oh gosh! I wish I knew. Mine are too young yet.

I was encuraged in my creative skills, but not as profession. Not that I argued much against that advice. And I wanted to program robots and make computer games.

I do none of these things today.

Now as older and wiser I can see a red line through all my interestes and my line of education didn't follow that line, allthough I thought so then.

Would do, definitely. In fact - we do.

Daughter, 19, has always wanted to act. So we helped. She's done plenty of stage work and some TV.

The Boy, 12, is a musician - plays the sax pretty well. He's in three bands currently.

But: Daughter is also an A grade student in pretty much everything and is going to University to study Zoo biology. And the boy is also an A grade student and wants, optionally, to be a games designer.

We help them in whatever direction they are happiest and most talented. But we also ensure they understand how rough it is out there - and it's not just the film/TV industries that are tough.

(Anyone who thinks life is easy hasn't actually tried living - they're just drifting. IMO.)
