My favorite Ashby movies are "Harold and Maude" and "Being There".

Regarding observation, Yogi Berra's quote takes the cake: "You can observe a lot just by watching."

"Bound for Glory" slays me every time I see it but I must say one can almost lump all Ashby's films together... they all are very deeply felt statements on the human condition.
