@januaryfire: The script version of Wall-E I have is 94 pages total. Your underlying point is well taken: Writing in Haiku-style can tend to add to page length. OTOH, it can force a writer to stick to "minimum words, maximum impact" mantra.

I think this is the proper way to write an animated film however the visuals were un-inspired in the final product. Clearly the Pixar animators and directors simply intended to animate what was written and put no effort to taking advantage of what animation is; A medium best fit for exaggeration. Classic cartoons were written with minute discriptions such as this but the animators and directors used the discription as a spring board, nothing was set in stone with the written word.

Wall-E had a lot of visual gloss and neat effects but it was a hollow film overall.
