He makes me confident enough to throw the the idea fo plot out the window and concentrate on character\situation. You know, the story. :-)

When he said he hates talking about plot, what do you think he means? Is he differentiating plot from story? In other words is he saying he tells the story through the characters rather than through the plot, or is he saying he simply focuses on the character without regard for plot/story? I definitely find it liberating to think less about the machinations of god's hand in the details of the activities and more about providing opportunities to confront the characteristics of the character.

Maybe I just need a primer on the difference between plot and story. It seems like semantic charm.
