while the linked scene is good, I think an even better one is the ending. even before the booing and hissing starts you have that long moment of very uncomfortable silence that reeks of disdain. and then followed by the scene of Close's character wiping off her makeup -- removing her mask

It's actually one of the moments that is copied very closely in the modern version Cruel Intentions to the same effect of breaking the mask etc. Probably one of the only truly great moments in the update, because no one says anyone and it's all about the faces.
