I'm the opposite. I like to write first thing in the morning. First thing I do when I wake up.

When those "things" creep in that normally creep in, there is no shutting them out.

I find when I start my day focused on writing, I will write with a much clearer focused mind, than if I do stuff first then try and write.

#3 is a very hard MUST.

Me, too. Do it in the morning. Do it a little at lunch... more prep-writing. Sometimes at night.

But first thing in the morning before the world intrudes and I'm still connected to the dream-world...

i don't manage my time. my grades reflect this.

working on it. :/

I have a routine.
Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 8:00am sit in car park and brainstorm next movie. Go to work at 8.00am.

Monday to Thursday 7 til 9pm is writing time, plus 90 minutes of reading.

Friday evening is my time off from writing but I spend some time researching by watching documentaries, then chilling out.

On weekends I spend three to fours writing, watching movies and reading.

Day job gets in the way, but I can work around it.

I manage my time by sticking to a word count or page number I must do every day. For my novel it's so many words per day and the script is so many pages a day. I allow myself the freedom to decide when I will do that each day.It doesn't matter to me what time of day it is. Some days I make my goal in an hour or two and other days it might take hours.

I tried managing my time by setting aside certain hours every day for writing but I wasn't as productive. With a word/page count I have to make the goal whereas a goal of writing 2 hours a day can find me staring at the screen for an hour trying to find the right word.

I always make sure to write on Sundays.
