I have to say that concept, right now, is more important.

We all know that even if you write a tremendous script, but maybe it is a downer drama, it might not sell because that's not whats "in" right now (too much superhero right now IMO).

If you write a Rom-com with a fresh, original idea, and the script is so so, I think it stands a better chance. Rom-Com's are almost always "in", and we all know there are always re-writes and such, so even if the script isn't amazing, they can do work on it, while keeping the fresh concept in tact.

I place a huge emphasis on concept. If you can't write a compelling 50-word version of your story, how can you expect to write a 100-page version?
